Animals - Do you allow Pets?
We are very pet friendly here at The Glen Lodges, and are situated on The Great Glen Way, an idle location for exercising your pet. Please contact us for details. Please note dogs are charged at £15 each, payable with the balance.
Christmas/New Year - Are you Open?
Sorry, we close from the 3rd Saturday in November until the 2nd Friday of February, although we still take reservations for the lodges during this period.
How far is the nearest Pub?
The nearest Pub is at the marina by Laggan Locks, known as the Eagle Inn on the Water. It is a converted dutch barge and is one and a half miles away. Please note that the pub is seasonal only.
How long will it take to get to Skye?
Because of our central location, Portree the capital of Skye can be reached in one and a half hours.
Shopping - Where can I get supplies?
There is a local shop 3 miles from the lodges, supplying everyday food items and other necessities. Other shops are located in Fort Augustus, (10 miles), Spean Bridge, (15 miles) and further on, Fort William (26 miles south). For large shops, Inverness is 46 miles to the north. Alternativly if you wish, you can Email your requirments direct to www.sevenheadsstore.co.uk for delivery to your lodge on the day of your arrival.
Where is the nearest Ski slope?
Aonach Mor in the Nevis range is our closest Ski slopes (15 miles)Here you will find Ski lifts and the Snow Goose restaurant on the slopes. The season can last from December until March.
Are Laundry facilities available?
Yes, we have an onsite laundry consisting of a coin operated commercial sized Washing Machine and Tumble Dryer. Each Lodge is also equipped with a telescopic washing line.
How far is the nearest petrol station?
The nearest fuel station is at Invergary 5 miles, Fort Augustus 12 miles or Fort William 26 miles.
Will I get to see the Pine Martens?
Of course the Pine Marten is a wild animal so we could never guarentee you will see one, but saying that they visit each veranda of the lodges just about every night. They are sometimes seen on site during the day time too!
Where do I pick up the lodge keys?
We live on site, on your arrival we will meet you and escort you to your lodge.
How can I get down to the Loch Side?
The Loch Side can be accessed via our new purpose built Loch Access, although care must be taken and children and Pets must be supervised at all times
Can I hire fishing equipment?
We hire all fishing equipment needed to enjoy an excellent days fishing at a very competetive rate, with the added bonus of a resident fishing ghillie who will either take you out for a day's fishing with excellent knowledge or very happily explain the best area's from which to fish. A Fast Fishing Cruiser with Skipper is also available for hire.
Is there BBQ Facilities?
Each of our lodges are equipped with a BBQ and out door seating for our guests to enjoy out-door living.
